We begin the show with One805, and organization in California that benefits the First Responders of Santa Barbara. One805 has announced that Grammy-winning recording artist Kenny Loggins as this year’s Heart of the Community Award recipient. The award recognizes individuals who have shown outstanding dedication to giving back to the community. Prior recipients include Kevin Costner, and One805 founding board member Alan Parsons. Other segments include; The annual Metallica charity for Marching Bands. High School and College Marching Bands compete by performing a Metallica song of their choice, and the winning bands receive thousands of dollars of music equipment for their marching band; Alice Cooper auctioning one of his paintings to benefit a Pet Rescue in Michigan; The Rock For Ronnie benefit concert raised $80,000 for cancer research in the memory of the late rocker Ronnie James Dio; and more.
