Orange Theory Donation, Book Truck, John Hopkins Free Tuition, and more

We begin the show with a story from Portland, OR. An Orange Theory location fired a coach/trainer who scammed members out of $12,000 worth of donations he said he’d give to 17 local charities. He kept all the money that members Venmo’d him. The Orange Theory has committed to giving $1000 to each of the 17 charities, for a total of $17,000. Other segments include; Rachel Cleveland in Minnesota has launched a Book Truck, selling books at public events; A Bloomsbury Philanthropy has donated $1 Billion to John Hopkins University Med School to cover tuition for qualified med students; Public School Districts have begun to outlaw smartphones in the classroom; and more.
